Welfare Team at work
Big Church Festival

Access and Welfare Team

The Access and Welfare team is looking for mature, sensitive and experienced people who can help look after some of our on-site guests.

As part of this role, you will be working closely with our Safeguarding Team ensuring everyone on site can enjoy themselves to the max!

Your role will support and help vulnerable adults and young people whilst they’re at the event. You will have to deal with different issues and enquiries as they occur around the site. You will need patience and people skills to handle different situations, and follow them through to a resolution. While also being a friendly face for people to approach with sensitive issues.

Ideally, you will need to have experience of a similar role in a church or work setting and prove that you can follow procedures and best practices. In addition, you will need to provide two referees from a relevant church or work setting and may have to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

What days do I need to work?

You’ll be required to work 15 hours over the course of the weekend. You’ll likely have one longer shift of 10 hours, plus one shorter shift of 5 hours. One of your shifts will be on a live event day (Saturday or Sunday), and the other shift won’t be, giving you one full day off to enjoy the event! Please see our Volunteer FAQs if you have any further questions.

When do I need to arrive?

You will need to be on-site no later than 7:30 pm the evening before your first shift, this is in order to attend the team wide briefing. When selecting which days you’re available to volunteer, please bear this in mind. We’ll also be holding a volunteer-only welcome party on the evening of Thursday 25th May, and we’d love for all volunteers to join us!
