Stewarding Team

Stewarding at Big Church Festival is about so much more than a high-vis jacket!

You’ll be part of a big team whose purpose is to welcome and look after tens of thousands of people as they join as one big church to celebrate all that is good. We are looking for a dream team who are passionate about good service, can communicate with a wide range of people, are calm and confident in busy environments, and ensure that every guest has a fun, accessible, and safe experience. It’s a team full of helpful, smiley people that greet and care for all the guests. It’s also great fun, so why not bring your mates and all join the Stewarding Team together?!

You’ll be responsible for the smooth running of the event; directing people, directing cars, managing queues, collecting money, making sure entrances and exits are supervised, helping to reset venues, plus lots of other jobs that are vital to the success of the event.

What days do I need to work?

You’ll be required to work 15 hours over the course of the weekend. You’ll likely have one longer shift of 10 hours, plus one shorter shift of 5 hours. One of your shifts will be on a live event day (Saturday or Sunday), and the other shift won’t be, giving you one full day off to enjoy the event! Please see our Volunteer FAQs if you have any further questions.

When do I need to arrive?

You will need to be on-site no later than 7:30pm the evening before your first shift, this is in order to attend the team wide briefing. Please bear this in mind when selecting which days you’re available to volunteer. We’ll also be holding a volunteer only welcome party on the evening of Thursday 25th May, and we’d love for all volunteers to join us!
