Have you got a level 6 or more in BSL interpretation?
The BSL team are fantastic and help to make sure that everyone can enjoy and experience the festival and worship together.
‘The food was great, and so was most of the event, the people were lovely and so was the worshipping! Also, as my mother is deaf, it was so lovely to see a sign interpreter at the Main Stage arena so she could enjoy the festival without feeling dejected because she’s not there just for the music! I am so grateful for that!’ – Big Church Festival Guest.
We are looking for volunteer BSL Interpreters to cover a range of stages and artists (timings are still to be confirmed). We need around 8 – 10 interpreters each day.
We are looking for people with at least a Level 6 qualification. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee how much information you will be provided in advance, as we do not get setlists or songs until the last minute. In addition, the MC’s do not work to a script, so previous experience is vital.
What days do I need to work?
Timings are still to be confirmed, however, you’ll be required to work on the live event days which are Saturday and Sunday.
When do I need to arrive?
You will need to be on-site no later than 7:30 pm the evening before your first shift, this is in order to attend the team-wide briefing. When selecting which days you’re available to volunteer, please bear this in mind. We’ll also be holding a volunteer-only welcome party on the evening of Thursday 25th May, and we’d love for all volunteers to join us!
